Upon cashing in his winnings, Long states that he was unable to claim the payout because of software malfunction on the site. He also pointed out that throughout nine hours of play, the online casinos company did not report problems with the software nor did it try to shut down the site. The online casinos Canadian-based software company, Parley Entertainment, refuted the claims of a malfunction in software.

Upon reporting the incident to the proper authorities in Malta, Long was offered 500 GBP, but he continues to refuse to accept the sum. The protest asserts that the online gambling site's actions are clearly illegal and abusive and that strict surveillance of such companies should be implemented to avoid abuse. Therefore, Long is also appealing to force the company to pay out the winnings, and plans on holding them responsible for any other damages sustained.
